Decolonized Tarot: A New Deck for the Global Majority

Hi everyone!

My apologies for the lack of updates! We had a hectic month but thankfully it's been all good things (except for an arm injury I got during a drawing event early March). It's been a long journey and this part of it is almost complete. We have ironed out all the issues with supply chain of our book and have those packages almost ready! Our goal is to have all Kickstarter tiers, packages, and physical items sent out by the end of May (or early June at the latest)! 

A few things to note: 

We are still hashing out the details with the e-book and still writing out the Zodiac deck, so those items will have to wait a little longer to ship.

We received a few messages about the poster art. We originally had the poster art as the Universe card, but we've decided to change it to the Temperance card so that there isn't too much repetition in the artwork.

February Update!

Hi Everyone!

Hope you all had a good year so far! It's been a busy start for us! A few work projects popped up in early January and the deadlines have been tight, so it's been a little chaotic juggling sending out packages and work. 

We were able to send out most of the Mahika packages and are continuing to send the other tiers too. So far we've sent out 100 more packages! 

I don't think I sent this in previous updates, but I also finally finished signing and embellishing all 175 art prints! It took a few tries to get the glitter look I wanted, but I finally got it figured out! Each print was carefully embellished and signed on the front. I also included a signed certificate of authenticity with the print number. If you ordered any of the tiers with art prints, you'll be receiving one of these prints! :) Hope you all enjoy these. 

I wanted to address some of the confusion with shipping. I'm trying to send out the packages in groups (ideally the bigger groups first), and in order to do that, I usually print out a bunch of shipping labels for those groups. After that's done, that's when I start assembling each package. That's usually why there's a delay in the tracking info going out and shipping the boxes. 

We're also sending out books slowly but surely. We will be shipping all books through Amazon KDP, so we'll be sending out tracking info once we finish up with the next group of packages.

As always, if you changed your address, please message me directly so I can change it in our system. The addresses have been locked so I'll have to change it on my end!

January Update!

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a happy holiday season! My apologies for the lack of updates the past several weeks. We celebrated our daughter's first birthday (yay!) and then the holidays got chaotic with family events,  and art events/conventions. 

The team and I are happy to update that we FINALLY received the book! We'll be sending them off promptly (starting with the people that got their orders but were missing the books). Here's a sneak peek of the book and some pages, along with a birthday pic of our now toddler!

Now that the holiday season is over, I can start sending out packages again! We'll be packaging and shipping them off within the next couple of weeks so for those that changed their addresses, please send a message here or email Cathleen directly with the changes!

Hey Everyone,

We apologize for the lack of updates! October was a chaotic month, but Cathleen was able to finish packing 200 more Decolonized Tarot packages which are now being sent off to you!

We also apologize for the confusion in shipping updates. Cathleen is sending the packages out in batches, and because of the book delays and the fact that the latest group is a large batch, it took a lot longer for Cathleen to send the batches out.

As always, a special thank you for your patience throughout this process. By joining this Kickstarter project, you really joined quite the journey and we're so close to the finish line. Your continued positivity goes such a long way.

August Update!

Hey Everyone!

Comic Con was an amazing experience and a bit all-encompassing, so excuse the lack of updates! We had a lot of interest in the Decolonized Tarot deck at the convention. People want to see them, like many of you, and the team and I are very sorry for this delay. The book is such a detailed thing and it involves a lot of elements to put it together. That being said, we decided to send the book separately when it's ready, which will be very soon.

That means I'm going to move forward with sending all of the remaining package tiers right now and send the book to you in a separate shipment. Originally our plan was to send all the items in the same package. But because of the changes in our book production, it makes more sense to send the other items first.

I had a draft of the book produced and shipped, and it looks amazing (see video below)! Upon further inspection, our team noticed small formatting and grammatical issues. We are addressing these items, because we want this book to be perfect for you.
