Decolonized Tarot: A New Deck for the Global Majority

Hello everyone!

We are drawing closer and closer everyday to finishing illustrating the deck and being able to send it out to you! We are currently hoping to have everything sent out by late summer, for anyone curious about the timeline of shipping. Be sure to keep up with us on Instagram if you're not already, where we post updates and new card reveals almost daily! We've also been working extremely hard on editing the Illustrated Guidebook, which is full of amazing anecdotes about the deck, and more! We truly cannot wait to share it. Guidebook Manuscript Finished, New Minor Arcana Card Reveals, and More!

Hi all!! We are so THRILLED to announce that the first draft of our Illustrated Guidebook Manuscript has been finished and is now being edited! This book is full of so many deep insights and hilarious observations by Maritess, as well as all the illustrations from our deck and notes on the illustrations by deck artist Cathleen! We are so proud of this book and cannot wait to send them out in coming months.

We have also been working VERY hard to finish the deck so we can get everything sent out as quickly as possible! Be sure to follow our account on Instagram, where we've been posting new reveals weekly! You can also sign up for our mailing list on our website. If you don't have social media, here is a sample of our newest illustrations for the deck!

We can't wait to reveal more sketches from the Decolonized Tarot Deck, the Zodiac Deck, and more! Hello backers!

We've been working hard on the Zodiac Deck for you and wanted to provide more information on it!

This deck will feature 78 tarot-sized cards (2.75 by 4.65 inches, with a high quality finish and gold gilt edging) with 78 different Zodiac Sign combinations. Each card will depict two interacting Zodiac Signs, with descriptions of the respective signs on the back of each card. For example, one card would be Scorpio & Scorpio, while another would be Scorpio & Taurus. We know this is a bit of a complicated concept, so let us know if you have any questions at all!

The cards in this deck will include original illustrations on the front by Decolonized Tarot illustrator Cathleen Abalos. The back will include information about the signs relationship to one another, covering love, friendships, family, etc.

We will continue sharing images with you both on Instagram and here as we finish more sketches! The Decolonized Zodiac Deck is available now on our Backerkit, as well as many other products including our Decolonized Tarot Guidebook, posters, pins, and more!

Tarot & Zodiac Deck Updates and Vanishing Cancer GoFundMe

Hi all!

Thank you so much for your kind messages and being so deeply understanding about everything we are going through at this time. It means the absolute world to us. If anyone is able to help out or even share, here is the link to our GoFundMe for Maritess. We appreciate all the support you've already shown us and are so thankful to our magic community. That said, we also want to provide some project updates!

First of all, we've been working hard on the finishing the Minor Arcana and should have some sketches to post soon! We have early drafts right now that feature a diverse array of characters including those with hair loss, Autism, and more.

Cathleen has also been busy illustrating the Zodiac Deck, which is currently available for purchase on our Backerkit! The Zodiac Deck cards will feature a Decolonized interpretation of the signs, along with information on that sign as well as how they interact with other signs! Important Updates - Backerkit Extended and Diagnosis

Hi everyone!

Thank you so much for your patience in receiving updates as we have been going through a lot as of late. We are extending the Backerkit, and wanted to explain why. 

In addition to delays because of Cathleen getting married (yay!), we've also been set back a bit in our schedule due to recently finding out that our other co-creator Maritess has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. We have been taking a bit of time to process this news and figure out how to best continue. 

While Maritess gets some much needed rest, we plan to wrap up illustrating the Decolonized Tarot Deck (we're working on the Minor Arcana now!). We will be posting those cards to our Instagram as they are completed, as well as the sketches for the Decolonized Zodiac Deck - you can find out more about that project on our Instagram as well, and/or on Backerkit, where it is available to order.

We will keep you updated about shipping as soon as we finish illustrating and start production, but feel free to reach out with any questions in the meantime!
